Township of Verona - Linn Drive Facility PFAS & Arsenic Treatment Project

The Township of Verona has initiated a critical project to address water quality concerns at the Linn Drive Facility. Sovereign has been awarded a $1.7M contract to oversee the transformation of one of Verona's raw water intake facilities into a state-of-the-art potable water treatment plant.

This specific facility has been inactive for over two and a half years due to elevated levels of arsenic and PFOA contaminants. Sovereign's primary objective is to install two 6-foot diameter AquoUS Vets anion ion exchange resin pressure vessels for PFAS treatment, alongside an additional two 7-foot diameter granular ferric hydroxide pressure vessels to mitigate arsenic contamination. This treatment methodology is industry standard and aligns with best practices being adopted statewide.

Located within the Linn Drive Community Center, the facility currently possesses minimal treatment systems. Sovereign faces the unique challenge of seamlessly integrating the new large pressure vessels into the existing building without disrupting the center's operations. Additionally, Sovereign will oversee all necessary building modifications, process piping, foundation work, chemical feed systems, and HVAC upgrades to ensure the successful implementation of the treatment plant.
