PFOA/PFNA Assessment, Private Client, Central, NJ

Sovereign has been contracted to assess and monitor PFOA and PFNA impacts in groundwater and potential impacts to a nearby surface water body. All groundwater samples were collected by Sovereign using low-flow purging techniques in accordance with NJDEP’s Field Sampling Procedures Manual. Additional precautions were taken during collection of groundwater samples for PFAS analysis to minimize the possibility of introducing PFAS contamination into the samples Groundwater flow and transport, including groundwater/surface-water interactions and potential groundwater discharge into the Upper New York Bay were evaluated to demonstrate that the site-specific contamination emanating from the ICI Subsite will not adversely impact the surface water now or in the future. A groundwater flow and contaminant transport model was created to: (i) evaluate the potential for PFOA present in the groundwater at the site to migrate to the Upper New York Bay.
