Sovereign Celebrates Earth Day 2021 with Planting 80 Trees in New Jersey

In celebration of Earth Day and our commitment to sustainability, Sovereign distributed more than 80 seedlings from the New Jersey Forest Nursery in Jackson, NJ. Employees, friends, and family of Sovereign were given an assortment of seedlings to choose from including cornelian cherry, arrowwood, black gum, and sycamore. All 80 seedlings were transported and planted in the past week leading up to Earth Day.

The purpose of the New Jersey Forest Nursey seedling initiative to promote forestation and conservation initiatives across the state under the New Jersey Forest Service and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. It is significant to plant trees because of their positive impact on the environment through their ability to be the home of hundreds of different species. They also help produce oxygen and capture rainwater which can reduce the risk of floods. Sovereign planted these seedlings in honor of Earth Day and encourages everyone to take small steps every day to care for the environment.
