Owen Douglass, Ph.D., CIH, Joins Sovereign Consulting Inc.
Sovereign is pleased to welcome Owen Douglass, Jr., Ph.D., CIH as Health and Safety Manager in the firm’s Cherry Hill, NJ office. He brings more than 39 years of experience and leadership in global environmental health and safety programs.
Dr. Douglass developed his expertise through major program management on U.S. EPA Superfund emergency response contracts; industrial project management of real estate environmental assessments; and industrial hygiene and safety programs in heavy industry, petroleum, electronics, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
He oversees technical aspects of emergency and remedial site cleanup operations; development of stabilization, treatment, and disposal criteria for immediate removal and remedial action (RA) plans; and design and management of occupational health, safety, and medical surveillance programs for hazardous waste sites and emergency spill response operations.
Additionally, Dr. Douglass has managed design and implementation of hazardous materials site investigations (SIs) for human health and environmental risk assessments, statistical analysis and interpretation of epidemiological and multimedia environmental sampling data, and design and implementation of community and industrial contingency/emergency preparedness plans.
At Sovereign, Dr. Douglass will provide expertise for health and safety program management and support Sovereign's new disaster response, recovery, and resilience program. Additionally, he will be available to partner with Sovereign’s clients in addressing their most pressing environmental health and safety challenges to ensure their continuing business success.
