LSJV Awarded $4.3M Contract for Remedial Action Operations at Shepley’s Hill Landfill Arsenic Treatment Plant
In a significant development, Lucianos-Sovereign Joint Venture (LSJV) was awarded a four-year comprehensive contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District and tasked with conducting crucial remedial action operations at the Shepley’s Hill Landfill (SHL) including the operation and maintenance of the groundwater extraction system and arsenic treatment plant at the Former Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Sovereign has been operating the SHL arsenic treatment plant since 2010 under several contracts. The project is critical for ensuring compliance with discharge permits, maintaining landfill integrity, and supporting the annual reporting requirements for SHL. This win marks the first major contract under the LSJV!
The scope of work includes the following:
- Operational Maintenance and Updates: Continuous operation and maintenance of the arsenic treatment plant, addressing any necessary modifications.
- Landfill Inspection, Maintenance, and Monitoring: Including annual mowing, professional inspections, and ongoing monitoring.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in line with regulatory requirements.
- Annual Report Preparation: Contributing to the 2024 Annual Report with data summaries and optimization recommendations.
The LSJV will also provide optional services, such as minor to major service calls, control and sludge management upgrades and the potential installation of a ventilation system for the treatment plant, adhering to ANSI/ASHRAE standards for indoor air quality.
